That is the statement my SIL said to me when we were talking about how I got the actual Influenza virus! Seriously ... who actually gets that? Just my luck ME!
It all started with Sunday, it was Kraig's birthday and I was feeling a little under the weather but I did not want to really want to make a big deal out of it. So, Monday rolls around and this is the day I am suppose to take my big practical exam for my liscense and I am feeling like absolute crud! It's 6:30am and I need to walk out the door in 10 minutes and I fell like passing out when I stand. Note, that I HAVE to take this test today or I have to pay another $120, not happening! I quickly get down on my knees and pray that I can just make it till 11am, my test will be over and then I can just go to bed. The whole drive to the test is nothing but more and more prayers. I made it to the testing center with one minute to spare do to traffic, a 30 minute drive took me over an hour! I completed the test, go some meds, and got into bed. That night Kraig came home and was trying everything he knew to make me feel better. But my throat was on FIRE and felt like I was constatnly being stab in in the throat. My head was pounding, my body was aching and I was bundled up so much but still counld not get warm. I was keeping my poor husband up so he finally went down starts to sleep on the couch. All I wanted to do was sleep but, I couldn't due the fact that it was getting hard for me to breath. Around 2:30 am my husband took me to the ER. Now, any one that knows me know that I don't do well with hospitals! Once being examed I start umm... how do I say this, loosing my cookies! They send me back out to the waiting room while they get a bed set up for me and while I am waiting my husband has to run and switch cars with his family. So, I get x rays and then am sent back to the waiting room. Then I get called back to my room. Kraig is still not back and they are wanting to put in a iv... but I am feeling nauseous again... and hello I don't do well with hospital and needles and now you want to stick one that is freaking hudge in my arm and my husband isn't here! I DON'T THINK SO... but the doctor though so, boy I bet he wished he had listened to me! I am praying that Kraig will just show back up NOW! The doctor starts getting ready to put in the needle and I turn my head and my knight and shinning armor shows up!! But I am afraid it was a little too late, I tell the doc I am feeling nauseous and he doesn't get me anything, I tell him again and still nothing. So I sadly have to admit that I lost it on not only the doctor but my self as well!! My wonderful husband had to get my nasty covered clothes off of me and get me into a gown. What would I do with out him! Oh and while at the hospital I had my first experience with morphine! When leaving the hospital ... yeah got sick again! Not a fun night at all! So, for this whole week I have been feeling horrible. But thank you so very much to my family and all they have done for me! They are amazing, espically my husband thank you, thank you, thank you!
