We have been busy

November and December have just flown by in our house. Pretty much all of November we had family in town and it was so much fun!! My sister Tiffany come into town so that Kraig could go out of town for one of our very good friends wedding. She helped me get so many things done including putting up all my Christmas deco. Then she left and I got stupid mastitis. But my wonderful mom came 2 days later for 10 days! Then two days after that my step dad came, then the next day my brother Ryan came! We had a blast having Thanksgiving at your house this year with them. All the thanks to my mom  who pretty much cooked everything! She is an AMAZING cook!! Then the day after Thanksgiving my brother Mike and his wife Bekah came for Sydney's Blessing. Kraig gave our baby girl such a beautiful blessing! I am so grateful for a husband who honors his priesthood and is worthy to bless our sweet baby. It was such a beautiful day. And big thanks to my mother in law for letting us have a dinner get together over there after. I was sad to have everyone go and my house felt so quite when Kraig went to work and it was just Sydney and I at home. Boy it takes a lot longer to get stuff done  with out those extra hands helping  you.I got mastitis again the first week of December!! Ugh that crap sucks! I went back to work at Ulta for 2 days a week the second week of December. It was a really hard week for me! But I do love my job and clients and I am only working 5 hrs each day so it is not too bad. Also, the extra money is a big help too!! We also celebrated our 5 yr wedding anniversary this month. I can't believe  how fast the time has gone. I have such a wonderful husband and I am so blessed to have him in my life. He is a great father and is always there to help me anytime I need him. I am so thankful for all of his hard work so that I only have to work 2 days a week and stay home with our baby. Sydney has been such a good baby I really can't complain. She is doing anywhere from 5 to 8 hrs in then night. Even when she does 5 I only have to get up once in the night, which is so nice. The nights she does 8 are  AMAZING!! She is smiling all the time and talking a lot as well. She is even starting to giggle. It is so dang cute!! I love my baby and I love being a mom. It is the best and most rewarding job ever! We are excited to have a baby in our home for Christmas, even though she has no idea what is going on.We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

The Story...

I can't believe my sweet baby Sydney will be 4 weeks old this Saturday!! Time is just flying by. I love being her mom! She is such a good baby and make me smile every day.
I have yet to share her delivery story due to not being able to find the time. Kraig keeps reminding me that I do need  to write it down so that we can remember it all. So, here it is...
On Wednesday the 26th of October, 6 days before my due date, I had a drs apt and I had been stuck at a 1.5 for about 4 weeks and was only about 50% effaced. They asked me if I wanted to be induced. Of course I said YES! I was so over being pregnant. So I was scheduled to go in that Friday morning. We got checked into the hospital and all set up in our room and it was about 10am. Dr came in a checked me and started me on some meds  to help soften me. I started to have some light contractions. 4 hrs later they checked me again and I still was not dilating and softening. They gave me another round of the same meds and I had to wait to 4 hrs again. I was checked after another 4 hrs and I had only progressed to a 2 maybe 2.5. They could not start me on the pitocin yet because I was starting to contract on my own and they didn't like how close together they were. So, instead they broke my water and quickly after that I started to have some hard contractions. A hour and a half later the contractions were getting too much for me and I needed the epidural. While getting the epidural I started to shake uncontrollably due to pain and the hormones. The dr was happy bc it seemed that I was going into labor now on my own and so they wanted to hold off on the pitocin yet again. I was checked a couple hours later and I had only progressed to a 3! Dr. decided  it was time for the pitocin. At about 8 am I was in a lot of pain and if felt like my epidural was wearing off. They came in and gave me some other meds through my epidural to help me with the pain. It seemed to work for about a hour and then I was in pain again and I couldn't take it! I was shaking uncontrollably again as well. They checked me and I was only at a 4 and by this time it was around 1pm. I ended up having to have my epidural redone because it was not working and I was feeling all of my labor! I was still shaking at this point as well and could not gain control of my body. The pitocin was making me look like a 500lb woman from the waist down. It finally got to a point where I was just not progressing fast enough and my body was wearing out! Also, baby girl's heart rate was beginning to elevate. So, they told me that I had to have a C-Section. I was relieved to finally be done but also extremely scared. I really didn't want a C-Section but knew I had to have one. My wonderful husband and his brother gave me a much needed blessing and I was then taken into surgery. After 31 hrs of labor Sydney was finally born! I am so grateful for my husband and his mother!! There is no way I could of gone through any of my labor with out them!

 My extremely swollen feet!
I was NOT very happy by this point and did not want my picture taken and Kraig still took one last preggo pic of  me right before my C-Section
Welcome to the world Sydney... Me meeting her for the first time. Even though I don't remember this due to all to the meds I was on.

Just Waiting

Had a drs appointment today and baby Sydney is quite content with staying put. I am 75% effaced and only dilated to to a 2... so no baby this week. The Dr is going to induce me on Nov. 1st if she hasn't made her appearance by yet. Kraig is leaving out of town for a wedding on Nov. 8th so the little lady needs to come out well before he leaves. My legs ankles and feet are extremely swollen and they ache, I can't remember what they used to look like before all the swelling. I am done working until December and am just trying to relax until our lives change forever.

Baby Sydney's Room

I have had so much fun putting together Sydney's room! The room is pretty much done except for the curtains. I have had a hard time finding what I want and I might just have to make them. I love her room and wish it was actually my room, Kraig would never go for all the pink! :) Oh and my mom and I found that dresser next to a dumpster and Kraig redid it me!! Not to bad for a free dresser!
